Herrenberg Riesling GG PW Mosel 1.5L

The Herrenberg Riesling GG from Maximin Grünhaus is a dry "Großes Gewächs" (Great Growth) from the Mosel, whose origin is clearly shown in the glass. This magnum (1.5 l) is suitable for larger groups and for anyone who likes to accompany a wine at the table in peace.

The Herrenberg is one of the vineyards of the Maximin Grünhaus winery on the Ruwer, near Trier. Here, the Riesling grows on slate soils, which give the wine its mineral imprint. As a "Großes Gewächs", the vineyard stands for the highest quality level in the estate's range.

On the nose, herbal spice and slate minerality meet quince, pear, and apple, plus lime, pomelo, and white grapefruit. On the palate, it appears clear and finely drawn. The citrus notes continue, a fine saltiness gives depth, and nuances of woodruff and Assam tea carry the spicy side into the finish.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8–10 °C. It pairs well with steamed or fried fish, scallops, veal with lemon sauce, and mild goat cheese.

VDP Member Estate

Maximin Grünhaus is one of the great names in the German wine world – and has been for centuries. The winery in the Ruwer Valley, a quiet side valley of the Moselle, was once owned by the Benedictine monastery of St. Maximin. Today, the von Schubert family cultivates this heritage with dedication and precision.

The three vineyard sites of Abtsberg, Bruderberg, and Herrenberg produce Rieslings that speak for themselves: delicate, mineral, with that unmistakable coolness and elegance that makes the Ruwer region so special. Whether a fresh and fruity Kabinett or a deep Spätlese – here you can taste history in every glass.
