Grünhäuser Pinot Noir 1G QW Mosel 0.75L

Grünhäuser Pinot Noir 1G QW Mosel 0.75L
A Spätburgunder from the Ruwer Valley that shows what slate-streaked south-facing slopes can extract from this grape variety: structure, depth, and a cool elegance that is more reminiscent of Burgundy than the German mainstream.
Maximin Grünhaus is one of the historically most significant wineries in the Mosel region. The estate in the Ruwer Valley, whose origins date back to the early Middle Ages, has been managed by the von Schubert family for generations. The classified First Growth sites on the Grünhäuser slope — Abtsberg, Herrenberg, and Bruderberg — are known for their mineral character, which gives the Riesling here world-class status. This 1G classification proves that these soils also give the Pinot Noir an unmistakable signature.
In the glass, the wine shows aromas of sour cherry and raspberry, underscored by a fine hint of graphite and a smoky note — typical for slate terroir. The body is lean, the tannins silky, the acidity lively and precise. The finish is long, cool, and mineral.
Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs with salmon trout from the Ruwer, veal loin with herbs, or an aged goat cheese.

Maximin Grünhaus is one of the great names in the German wine world – and has been for centuries. The winery in the Ruwer Valley, a quiet side valley of the Moselle, was once owned by the Benedictine monastery of St. Maximin. Today, the von Schubert family cultivates this heritage with dedication and precision.
The three vineyard sites of Abtsberg, Bruderberg, and Herrenberg produce Rieslings that speak for themselves: delicate, mineral, with that unmistakable coolness and elegance that makes the Ruwer region so special. Whether a fresh and fruity Kabinett or a deep Spätlese – here you can taste history in every glass.
