Herrenberg Riesling Auslese PW Mosel 0.75L

An Auslese from the Herrenberg — this means luscious Riesling from one of the three monopole vineyards that the Maximin Grünhaus estate has been cultivating for centuries. The Ruwer valley, a tributary of the Moselle, is considered one of the coolest and most elegant Riesling regions in Germany, and the Herrenberg with its reddish Devonian slate is the most powerful of the three Grünhaus wines.

In the glass, this Auslese shows what selectively harvested, fully ripe berries from a steep slate slope can achieve: aromas of apricot, candied citrus peel, and white peach, underpinned by the mineral spice of the slate soil. Despite the high residual sugar, the sweetness never feels heavy — the lively Ruwer valley acidity keeps everything in balance and ensures a long, fresh finish.

Such wines are built for decades. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Suitable pairings include strong blue cheese, foie gras, or a classic dessert with peaches and almonds — or simply enjoyed on its own to conclude a long evening.
