Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Grand Cru Kabinett fruity
The Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Große Lage Kabinett fruchtig is a Mosel Riesling that shows what fruit-forward Kabinett style really means: no heaviness, no compromises – just precise fruit, lively acidity and a lightness that you won't soon forget.
The Maximin Grünhaus estate is one of the Mosel's most prestigious wineries. The Herrenberg vineyard – one of the estate's great single sites – provides the foundation for a Riesling that, through spontaneous fermentation , acquires a distinctively spicy and vibrant character. In the glass, it is juicy and fresh, with delicate aromas of ripe citrus fruits and a floral note in the background. Despite its fruity sweetness, it never feels heavy: acidity and residual sugar are beautifully balanced, giving it both drinkability and a remarkable aging potential of around eleven years .
Drink it well chilled as an accompaniment to light dishes – Asian cuisine, fried fish, goat cheese, or simply an evening on the terrace. The trade press agrees: 92 points from Robert Parker and 93 points from James Suckling for the 2018 vintage speak for themselves.
Maximin Grünhaus is one of the great names in the German wine world – and has been for centuries. The winery in the Ruwer Valley, a quiet side valley of the Moselle, was once owned by the Benedictine monastery of St. Maximin. Today, the von Schubert family cultivates this heritage with dedication and precision.
The three vineyard sites of Abtsberg, Bruderberg, and Herrenberg produce Rieslings that speak for themselves: delicate, mineral, with that unmistakable coolness and elegance that makes the Ruwer region so special. Whether a fresh and fruity Kabinett or a deep Spätlese – here you can taste history in every glass.
