DIECI VENDEMMIE Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 20th Ed.

The DIECI VENDEMMIE Montepulciano d'Abruzzo for the 20th Edition is a full-bodied, soft red wine from Abruzzo, semi-dry in style and with plenty of cocoa and coffee in the finish.

Behind the wine are brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse. They continue what their grandfather began at the beginning of the 20th century with the first vines. Today, Tenuta Ulisse manages 55 hectares around Crecchio and Lanciano in the interior as well as Ortona on the coast. The grapes are selectively hand-picked in 10 kg containers, brought to the winery cooled with dry ice, and sorted again. The wine belongs to the Linea Selezione, which focuses on autochthonous grape varieties of Abruzzo.

In the glass, the multi-layered bouquet shows plum and cherry with fine tobacco notes. On the palate, it is balanced and soft, the tannins are elegantly integrated. Cocoa, coffee, and vanilla carry the long finish. It pairs with pasta with ragù, grilled lamb, or aged Pecorino. Serve at 16 to 18 °C.
