AMARANTA Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP - 1.5L Magnum -

An opulent Montepulciano that unfolds its full character in the magnum bottle. The Amaranta from Tenuta Ulisse is a profound red wine from Abruzzo, exhibiting pronounced fruit sweetness and density in the glass.

Brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse continue their grandfather's legacy. On 55 hectares between the Ortona coast and the inland region, the vines are rooted in diverse terroir. The harvest is strictly selective and carried out by hand in small 10-kilo crates. To ensure the grapes arrive at the winery undamaged and fresh, they are cooled with dry ice immediately after harvesting. This immense manual effort preserves the intense aromas of the indigenous grape varieties.

On the nose, the Amaranta displays enticing notes of dark red fruits, underpinned by balsamic hints of pine forest and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, it begins with a distinctly sweet opening that transitions into a full-bodied yet surprisingly elegant character. The finish is long, carried by dark fruit and a warm spice.

Pour this wine into large glasses at 16 to 18 °C . Its robust, fruity-sweet profile makes it an excellent accompaniment to braised beef cheeks, venison goulash with cranberries, or aged Pecorino cheese. The magnum format also makes it an ideal choice for larger gatherings.
