The Vernatsch is an autochthonous grape variety unique to South Tyrol. The unusually large berries for wine grapes give it the typical fruity and light South Tyrolean red wine character. This wine thrives in special single-vineyard sites on the slopes of Breitbach, a district of the municipality of Kurtatsch in the South Tyrolean lowlands.
