Castelfeder Kerner Lahn

Castelfeder Kerner Lahn
Kerner is an underrated grape variety in South Tyrol—unjustly so. The Lahn from Castelfeder shows what is possible on the narrow terraces above Neumarkt: a dry white wine with its own character, far removed from generic lightness.
Castelfeder is one of the most reliable wineries in the Überetsch region. The estate cultivates vineyards between 220 and 900 meters above sea level — the Kerner grapes grow at these mid-altitudes, where the temperature fluctuations between day and night sharpen the aromas and keep the acidity vibrant.
Straw yellow in the glass with green reflections. On the nose, mace, white peach, and a hint of fresh herbs. Fresh and lively on the palate, with vibrant acidity and a delicate spicy note on the finish—typical of Kerner from alpine vineyards.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with lemon butter, Tyrolean grey cheese, grilled redfish, or light pasta dishes with herb sauce. Drink now — not a wine for aging, but a reliable everyday companion with a regional character.
