Castelfeder Lagrein Rosato

Castelfeder Lagrein Rosato
A rosé wine that shows what Lagrein can do beyond its heavy red wine variant: fresh, lively, with real fruit.
Castelfeder is located in Neumarkt in the South Tyrolean lowlands – one of the warmest wine-growing regions in the Alps, where Lagrein draws its characteristic depth from volcanic porphyry soil and long hours of sunshine. The cooperative has been working with local winegrowing families for decades and specializes in indigenous South Tyrolean grape varieties.
In the glass, the wine shines with a vibrant antique rose hue. The nose offers fresh raspberry, pomegranate, and a hint of wild strawberry – typical of the variety and clear. On the palate, the Lagrein origin is evident: slightly more substance than a classic Pinot Grigio rosé, lively acidity, subtle tannins, and a clean, fruit-forward finish.
Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled vegetables with herb oil, salmon tartare, light pasta with tomatoes, or South Tyrolean speck as an aperitif. Drink now – not a wine for aging, but that's exactly what it's meant to be.
