Wachtenburg Forster Riesling Schnepfenflug dry 1.0L

A dry Riesling from one of the most famous single vineyards in the Palatinate — the Schnepfenflug in Forst stands for mineral-influenced wines with a clear structure and depth.

Wachtenburg Winzer is a winegrowers' cooperative from Wachenheim an der Weinstraße, rooted in the heart of the Mittelhaardt. The Forster Schnepfenflug vineyard is located on basalt-rich soil, which gives the Rieslings of this area their characteristic spice and density — Forst is not considered one of the finest Riesling communities in Germany for nothing.

In the glass, the wine shows the typical Palatinate Riesling aromatics: ripe citrus fruit, a hint of white peach, underpinned by a subtle mineral note. On the palate, it presents itself as dry with lively acidity, medium body, and a fresh, lingering finish.

Served well-chilled at 8–10 °C, it pairs with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried zander, or a creamy goat cheese. An uncomplicated companion for everyday life that reflects the quality of the Palatinate Riesling tradition.

Wachtenburg Winzer

The Wachtenburg Winzer eG from Wachenheim on the German Wine Route is one of the oldest wine cooperatives in the Palatinate: founded in 1900 by 53 Palatinate winemakers, it today stands for the joint craftsmanship of 24 winemaker families who together cultivate 350 hectares.

The namesake is the striking Wachtenburg castle ruin high above Wachenheim — a landmark that is literally written on the faces of the wines of this cooperative.

The focus is on Riesling, but the range extends far into all worlds of taste with over 13 white and 11 red grape varieties. High-quality wine enjoyment at fair prices and careful handling of the vineyards — that is the self-image that connects all these winemaker families.
