The 1.0-liter bottle makes it the ideal choice for social gatherings, long evenings at the table, or whenever you simply want a little more.
In the glass, it reveals itself as complex and fresh: red fruits like cherry and raspberry dominate the aroma, while the palate experiences an elegant, delicate red wine with a pleasant length and soft structure. Typical of the Palatinate – ripe, warm, and without any heaviness.
He cuts a particularly fine figure when eating:
- Hearty dishes such as lentils, pot roast or mushroom risotto
- Grilled meat, lamb chops or poultry
- Mature soft cheeses as an uncomplicated finale

It is delicate and fresh, not a heavy red wine. Cherry and raspberry characterize the scent, the palate is softly structured with pleasant length — typical Palatinate, ripe and without heaviness.

It works well with braised dishes, lamb chops, and poultry, but also with mushroom risotto or lentil dishes. To finish, it holds its own well alongside mature soft cheeses.
At what temperature should I serve it?

The liter format contains about a third more than a standard bottle and is well-suited for larger groups or extended evenings. Quality and character are identical to the 0.75-l version.

Sealed, cool, and dark — ideally in the fridge. Drink within two to three days so that the fruit and freshness are preserved.
The Winery
The Wachtenburg Winzer eG from Wachenheim on the German Wine Route is one of the oldest wine cooperatives in the Palatinate: founded in 1900 by 53 Palatinate winemakers, it today stands for the joint craftsmanship of 24 winemaker families who together cultivate 350 hectares.
The namesake is the striking Wachtenburg castle ruin high above Wachenheim — a landmark that is literally written on the faces of the wines of this cooperative.
The focus is on Riesling, but the range extends far into all worlds of taste with over 13 white and 11 red grape varieties. High-quality wine enjoyment at fair prices and careful handling of the vineyards — that is the self-image that connects all these winemaker families.
