Wachenheimer Fuchsmantel Riesling Kabinett dry

The Wachenheimer Fuchsmantel Riesling Kabinett trocken from the Wachtenburg winegrowers is a wine that shows what the Palatinate has to offer at its best: precision, vibrancy and a distinctive terroir profile.

In the glass, a clear, distinctive aroma unfolds with delicate notes of apricot and ripe apple , underpinned by a subtle minerality indicative of the calcareous sandstone soils of the Wachenheim Fuchsmantel vineyard. This interplay continues on the palate: fruity, fresh, with a pleasant firmness that makes the wine lively and appealing – typical of a well-made Kabinett.

The dry winemaking style gives it a crispness without harshness, depth without heaviness. This makes it a versatile companion at the table – whether with grilled shrimp, a light goat cheese salad, steamed pike-perch, or a plate of fresh asparagus. It also makes an excellent aperitif, well chilled at around eight to ten degrees Celsius.

For Riesling lovers, it's a reliable friend. For anyone still discovering this grape variety, it's an ideal introduction to the fascinating world of Palatinate Riesling.

Wachtenburg Winzer

The Wachtenburg Winzer eG cooperative from Wachenheim on the German Wine Route is one of the oldest winegrowers' cooperatives in the Palatinate region: founded in 1900 by 53 Palatinate winegrowers, it now represents the shared craft of 24 winegrowing families who cultivate 350 hectares together. It takes its name from the striking Wachtenburg castle ruins high above Wachenheim—a landmark that is literally reflected in the wines of this cooperative. The focus is on Riesling, but the range extends to over 13 white and 11 red grape varieties, catering to a wide variety of tastes. High-quality wine enjoyment at fair prices and careful stewardship of the vineyards—this is the shared philosophy that unites all these winegrowing families.
