Wachtenburg Dornfelder Pfalz QbA semi-dry 1.0L

The Wachtenburg Dornfelder Pfalz QbA semi-dry is a straightforward red wine from the Palatinate – one of the sunniest and most productive wine regions in Germany. Produced by the Wachtenburg winegrowers , one of the region's traditional winegrowers' cooperatives, this Dornfelder demonstrates the true potential of the grape variety: color, fruit, and character.

In the glass, it presents itself in a deep, intense ruby red . The nose offers aromas of dark berries – blackberry, black cherry – accompanied by a slightly spicy undertone. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth , with a pleasant residual sweetness that makes it agreeable and approachable without being heavy. The finish is round and lingering.

The 1.0-liter bottle makes it a practical choice for social evenings: more content, fewer compromises.

Especially recommended for:

  • Grilled meat, roast beef or pulled pork
  • Spicy cheeses such as Appenzeller or Münster
  • Pasta with a rich tomato sauce or moussaka
  • Antipasti and Mediterranean braised dishes

A wine without detours – honest, easy to drink and with a very good price-to-quality ratio.

Wachtenburg Winzer

The Wachtenburg Winzer eG cooperative from Wachenheim on the German Wine Route is one of the oldest winegrowers' cooperatives in the Palatinate region: founded in 1900 by 53 Palatinate winegrowers, it now represents the shared craft of 24 winegrowing families who cultivate 350 hectares together. It takes its name from the striking Wachtenburg castle ruins high above Wachenheim—a landmark that is literally reflected in the wines of this cooperative. The focus is on Riesling, but the range extends to over 13 white and 11 red grape varieties, catering to a wide variety of tastes. High-quality wine enjoyment at fair prices and careful stewardship of the vineyards—this is the shared philosophy that unites all these winegrowing families.
