Ungeheuer G.C. Riesling dry QW Palatinate 0.75L
The Ungeheuer Grand Cru is one of the most famous Riesling sites in the Palatinate — a limestone-buntsandstein mixture at the foot of the Palatinate Forest that produces wines of unusual depth and tension. Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf, one of the oldest and most renowned houses in the region, has been farming its vineyards organically (DE-ÖKO-003) for years and relies on minimal intervention in the cellar to bring the character of the site into the bottle unfiltered.
On the nose, the wine opens with vineyard peach, ripe Braeburn apples, and a hint of white blossoms. On the palate, it shows the typical Ungeheuer structure: dense, firmly integrated acidity that gives the wine tension without appearing too edgy. The finish is long, mineral, and slightly salty — a clear fingerprint of the site.
Good with grilled sea bass with fennel, veal sweetbreads, or an aged mountain cheese. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
