Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore DOCG

Together with the classic Santa Cristina Rosso, this Chianti Superiore perfectly embodies the essence of Tuscany. The two grape varieties were vinified separately. The Merlot underwent a maceration of 7 to 8 days at a maximum temperature of 25°C, which enhanced the extraction of the soft tannins while preserving the fruity aromas of the berries. The Sangiovese maceration was longer, lasting 10 to 12 days, and took place at temperatures of 30°C with gentle submersion to increase the wine's flavor complexity. A total of nine months of aging in both stainless steel and wooden barrels was followed by a further two months of bottle aging before the wine was released. The wine presents itself in a ruby-red color with violet reflections. The bouquet is reminiscent of red fruit, especially cherry, and also reveals the subtle vanilla notes from the six months of aging in wooden barrels. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft and velvety tannins. The aftertaste again reveals the red fruit perceived in the nose.

Antinori

Marchesi Antinori from Florence is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the world: the family has been cultivating wine continuously since 1385 and still owns and manages the company today. In 1971, Piero Antinori, together with oenologist Giacomo Tachis, laid the foundation for a revolution when he created Tignanello, the first Super Tuscan – a Sangiovese-Cabernet blend aged in barriques, which fundamentally changed the wine world. Today, Piero's daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia manage the company, which owns approximately 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont, Apulia, and California. At Antinori, tradition and bold innovation are not opposites, but rather the foundation of every single bottle.
