Roggio del Filare Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore Magnum

The Roggio del Filare is Velenosi's flagship red wine – a red wine from the Marche region that shows what Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Sangiovese can achieve together when given time.

Founded in 1984 in Ascoli Piceno, the Velenosi winery is now one of the region's most renowned producers. Angela Velenosi has transformed the estate from a small family business into one of the leading names in Rosso Piceno Superiore, with a consistent focus on the indigenous grape varieties of the Marche region and traditional winemaking techniques.

After 18 months of aging in new barriques, the Roggio del Filare displays a dense, multifaceted profile: on the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and wild berries, along with notes of cedar, dark chocolate, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine exhibits a powerful yet well-integrated tannin structure – warm, with noticeable body and a long, spicy finish. The magnum bottle further slows down the aging process and gives the wine even more development potential.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Drinking window until 2030. Pairs well with braised beef, leg of lamb with rosemary , or aged Pecorino cheese. Also a good choice to accompany a long, multi-course dinner – the magnum size makes it a natural centerpiece.
