Roggio del Filare Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore Magnum

Roggio del Filare Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore Magnum
The Roggio del Filare is the flagship of Velenosi – a red wine from the Marche that shows what Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Sangiovese can achieve together if you give them time.
The Velenosi winery was founded in 1984 in Ascoli Piceno and is now one of the most famous addresses in the region. Angela Velenosi has developed the estate from a small family business into one of the defining names in Rosso Piceno Superiore – with a consistent focus on the autochthonous grape varieties of the Marche and artisanal vinification.
After 18 months of aging in new barriques, the Roggio del Filare shows a dense, multi-layered profile: on the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and forest fruits, plus notes of cedar wood, dark chocolate, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine carries a powerful but well-integrated tannin structure – warm, with noticeable body and a long, spicy finish. The magnum bottle slows down the maturation additionally and gives the wine more development potential.
Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs with braised beef, lamb shank with rosemary, or mature Pecorino. Also a good choice as an accompaniment to a long dinner with several courses – the magnum size makes it the natural centerpiece.
