Ludi Offida Rosso DOCG

Velenosi 's Ludi Offida Rosso DOCG is the iconic flagship wine of the Ascoli Piceno estate in the Marche region – named after the Latin word "ludus," meaning play and joy, and inspired by Matisse's painting "La Danse." Since its first vintage in 1998, it has been considered one of the most important red wines in the entire region. The blend of 85% Montepulciano, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Merlot comes from hand-picked grapes grown at an altitude of 200–250 meters on clay-limestone soil in Offida and Castel di Lama.

In the glass, it shines with an intense, vibrant ruby red . The nose is profound and persistent, with aromas of fleshy blackberry, cassis, licorice, and graphite , complemented by fine, balsamic notes of great complexity. On the palate, it is expressive, elegant, and powerful, with fine, soft, and rounded tannins after 28 days of maceration and a long, chocolate-tinged finish.

Matured for 18–24 months in new French oak barrels and a further 3 months in the bottle, this wine is served at 14.5% ABV at 16–18°C . Ideal with roast beef, braised beef, wild boar ragout, and aged cheeses – with aging potential until 2039 .
