Passerina Marche IGT

Passerina is one of the oldest indigenous grape varieties of the Marche region – its name derives from the Italian word "passero " (sparrow), because the small, tightly packed grapes are said to resemble a bird. Velenosi from Ascoli Piceno is one of the most reliable producers of the region's white grape varieties and clearly captures the aromatic character of this variety in the glass.

On the nose, the wine reveals elderflower, pear, and a hint of grapefruit – lively and uncomplicated. On the palate, a fresh acidity supports the fruit, the texture remains lean, and the finish is spicy and short with a citrusy aftertaste.

Ready to drink now, ideally within the next two years. Recommended serving temperature: 10–12 °C, with grilled fish, seafood risotto, or light antipasti with goat cheese. Also a good choice on its own as an uncomplicated summer wine.

Velenosi

Founded in 1984 by Angela and Ercole Velenosi, the Italian winery Velenosi is located approximately 25 km from the Adriatic Sea. Situated at an altitude of about 150-200 meters above sea level, Velenosi cultivates around 145 hectares of vineyards, growing grape varieties such as Pecorino, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, and Verdicchio. Approximately two million bottles of wine are bottled annually in their own cellar.
