Rosé Marche IGT Rosato Magnum

A rosé that can do more than just a summer terrace: Velenosi's Rosato Marche IGT shows what Montepulciano can achieve in rosé winemaking — structure, minerality and real fruit in one.

Velenosi is one of the most reliable wineries in the Marche region, one of central Italy's most underrated wine regions. The winery has been working with the region's indigenous grape varieties for decades, including Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which forms the basis of this Rosato. The magnum bottling allows for slower aging and preserves the freshness for longer.

On the nose, it opens with roses and violets, followed by redcurrant and raspberry – present, but not overpowering. On the palate, the Montepulciano reveals its origin: an unusual structure for a rosé, lively acidity, and a salty minerality on the finish that clearly distinguishes it from lighter Provençal rosés.

  • Temperature: 10–12 °C
  • Pairs well with: Grilled salmon, vitello tonnato, burrata with tomatoes, or pasta with seafood.
  • Occasion: Social gatherings — the magnum is enough for six to eight glasses and stays fresh longer thanks to the bottle size.

Velenosi

Founded in 1984 by Angela and Ercole Velenosi, the Italian winery Velenosi is located approximately 25 km from the Adriatic Sea. Situated at an altitude of about 150-200 meters above sea level, Velenosi cultivates around 145 hectares of vineyards, growing grape varieties such as Pecorino, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, and Verdicchio. Approximately two million bottles of wine are bottled annually in their own cellar.
