Riesling Magnum

Riesling Magnum
A Riesling that shows what biodynamic viticulture in Rheinhessen can achieve – structured, vibrant, with real depth.
Jochen Dreissigacker cultivates his vineyards around Bechtheim and Westhofen according to biodynamic principles. The grapes are selectively harvested by hand, and a portion of the whole berries is deliberately left for spontaneous fermentation – this gives the wine a complexity rarely found in this price range. It is aged 90% in stainless steel and 10% in double-barreled oak barrels for six months on the lees, followed by aging on the fine lees until bottling.
In the glass: pale straw yellow. On the nose, citrus peel, white peach, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of limestone. On the palate, juicy acidity keeps the wine taut without being harsh – followed by a medium-long, slightly salty finish.
Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce , grilled pike-perch, or a mature goat cheese. The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the 0.75 l bottle – best enjoyed by 2029.
