Weissburgunder Tonneau

Six hours of skin contact, then 18 months of aging on the full lees in tonneau — the Pinot Blanc from Dreissigacker shows what the grape variety can achieve when given time and wood.

The Dreissigacker winery is located in Bechtheim in Rheinhessen and has been working consistently organically for years. The grapes for this wine were selectively hand-picked and gently brought into the cellar — an approach that finds its logical conclusion in the tonneau aging.

In the glass, a white wine with substance appears: the varietal-typical notes of white peach and acacia blossom are supplemented by hazelnut and fine vanilla through the long wood contact. The 18 months on the full lees give the wine creaminess and texture without masking the floral lightness of the Pinot Blanc. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with well-embedded acidity.

Serving temperature 12–14 °C. Pairs with veal medallions with cream sauce, scallops with butter sauce, or a hearty Munster.
