Riesling Magnum 1.5L

A Riesling that shows what biodynamic viticulture can achieve in Rheinhessen – structured, lively, with real depth.

Jochen Dreissigacker manages his sites around Bechtheim and Westhofen according to biodynamic principles. The grapes are selectively hand-picked, and a portion of the whole berries is deliberately included in the spontaneous fermentation – this gives the wine complexity rarely found in this price range. 90% stainless steel, 10% double-piece barrel, six months on the full lees, followed by storage on the fine lees until bottling.

In the glass: light straw yellow. On the nose, citrus zest, white peach, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of limestone. On the palate, juicy acidity that keeps the wine taut without stinging – plus a medium-long, slightly salty finish.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, grilled zander, or a mature goat cheese. The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the 0.75 l.
