Costamiòle Nizza DOCG
The Costamiòle Nizza DOCG from Prunotto is the flagship red wine of this traditional Piedmontese winery – a single-varietal Barbera from the top vineyards of Agliano Terme in the heart of the Nizza DOCG. Limestone, clay, and marl soils, along with south-facing slopes, lend the wine its unique depth and mineral precision.
In the glass, it shines an intense ruby red with garnet reflections . The nose is rich, complex, and concentrated: black cherry, plum, mulberry, and cassis mingle with hints of mint, vanilla, licorice, and oriental spice. After aging in new French oak barrels, it displays a silky-smooth texture, elegant structure, perfectly integrated tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish on the palate.
With 14.5% alcohol by volume and an ideal serving temperature of 16–18°C , lightly decanted, it accompanies pot roasts, game dishes, truffle risotto, and aged cheeses. A wine with aging potential well into the 2030s .
