Domaine Chanson Beaune Clos des Marconnets Premier Cru

Clos des Marconnets lies in the northern part of the Beaune appellation—a four-hectare Premier Cru vineyard whose name derives from the Germanic tribe of the Marcomanni. Domaine Chanson, one of the oldest négociants in the Côte de Beaune with roots in the 18th century, cultivates around 40% of this site and vinifies it as a separate Cru.

In the glass, the wine displays a bright ruby red. The nose offers peony and violet, with notes of stewed cherry and blackberry underneath, rounded off by a hint of vanilla and clove. On the palate, it has a slightly muscular texture, fine tannins, and a lively acidity that supports the wine—the finish is long with fruity and spicy notes.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C . Drinking window: now until 2032, with potential for further cellaring. Pairs well with duck breast with cherry sauce, Coq au Vin, or a mature Époisses.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
