Domaine Chanson Beaune Clos des Marconnets Premier Cru

The Clos des Marconnets lies in the northern part of the Beaune appellation — a four-hectare Premier Cru vineyard whose name goes back to the Germanic tribe of the Marcomanni. Domaine Chanson, one of the oldest négociant houses in the Côte de Beaune with roots in the 18th century, manages around 40% of this site and vinifies it as an independent Cru.

In the glass, the wine shows a luminous ruby red. On the nose, peony and violet, underneath stewed cherry and blackberry, rounded off by a hint of vanilla and clove. On the palate, slightly muscular texture, fine tannins, and a lively acidity that supports the wine — the finish remains long with fruity and spicy notes.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C. With potential for further development in the cellar. The bottle pairs with duck breast with cherry sauce, Coq au Vin, or a mature Époisses.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most renowned wineries in the Burgundy region. It is one of the few wineries that has remained in existence since the 18th century.

Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has carried out extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the best in Burgundy. Amidst the picturesque hills stretch the 45 hectares of vineyards, which thrive in the most prestigious sites such as Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis.

Here, tradition and modernity merge into a unique symbiosis that gives every wine a special touch. The historic bastion, a wine cellar from the 15th century, is the heart of the winery.

In these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under perfect conditions. Every bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
