Boschendal Elgin Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir from the cool Elgin Valley – one of the few South African growing regions that gives this sensitive grape variety the necessary freshness.

Boschendal is one of the oldest wineries in the Cape region, founded in 1685 in the Franschhoek Valley. The Elgin appellation lies at an altitude of around 200 meters, characterized by Atlantic winds and long, cool ripening periods – ideal conditions for aromatically precise Pinot Noir.

After 12 months in French oak barrels, the wine displays a vibrant ruby ​​red color in the glass. The nose offers aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and a hint of cranberry, underpinned by roasted hazelnut and subtle spice from the wood. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine, well-integrated tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is long, with a light earthy note.
