Bassermann Jordan Forst Riesling dry

Bassermann-Jordan Forst Riesling trocken is a classic village Riesling from Forst in the Palatinate, reflecting the renowned terroir surrounding vineyards such as Forster Kirchenstück, Pechstein, and Jesuitengarten in a dry, clearly structured style. As a VDP village wine , the wine emphasizes its origin and demonstrates how Riesling can develop power, freshness, and clear expression in Forst's cool, mineral climate.

In the glass, it shines with a bright, straw-yellow hue and delicate green reflections. The nose reveals clear, expressive fruit with notes of green apple, citrus, peach, and apricot , complemented by fine minerality and a hint of flint or herbs from the Palatinate maquis. On the palate, the wine is juicy, with lively, crisp acidity that supports the fruit without masking its lean, elegant structure. The body is medium-bodied, clear, and supple, with a long, minerally characterized, slightly intense finish that lingers on the palate.

The Forst Riesling trocken pairs perfectly with light yet aromatic dishes: fresh fish, asparagus, and light pasta dishes. Served at around 8–10 °C , it best showcases its balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality and is also suitable for aging for several years, during which it can gain even more depth and complexity. A wine for anyone who appreciates a sophisticated, dry Riesling with a distinct Palatinate character.

Bassermann-Jordan

Bassermann-Jordan – Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2020 named this winery "Germany's Best Winery." And rightly so, in our opinion. The family business in Deidesheim in the Palatinate region looks back on a long tradition – founded in 1718 by Andreas Jordan. Today, Jana Niederberger runs the estate with passion, making it one of the 100 best wineries in Germany. Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow on 49 hectares of vineyards, spread across 20 individual sites. The soils? A fascinating mix of variegated sandstone, loess, basalt, and porphyry. What's particularly impressive: exclusively hand-harvesting during the selection process and organic farming methods. This results in 450,000 bottles full of character each year – Palatinate love in every bottle.
