Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Brut German Sparkling Wine

Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Brut — a German sparkling wine from one of the most traditional wineries in the Palatinate. If you want an aperitif that reflects your origin and craftsmanship, this is the perfect choice.

The base wine comes from the 2021 vintage and grows on weathered red sandstone soils with varying proportions of sand and clay—a terroir that imparts the Riesling with its characteristic fruitiness and elegance. The grapes are gently pressed for many hours, and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The sparkling wine then matures for approximately twelve months on the lees in the bottle—according to traditional methods. The result: a delicate, subtly yeasty bouquet that lends the sparkling wine depth without compromising its approachability.

In the glass, it displays ripe Riesling fruit, a hint of vineyard peach , and a delicate, elegant perlage. Brut, but not harsh—harmoniously balanced for exceptional drinking pleasure.

  • Perfect as an aperitif or for a reception
  • Excellent with delicate fish dishes, asparagus or mild goat cheese.
  • Drinking window: optimal within the next 18 to 24 months

A sparkling wine that shows what Palatinate Riesling can do — crisp, clear and with real character in the glass.

VDP Member Estate

Bassermann-Jordan – Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2020 named this winery "Germany's Best Winery." And rightly so, in our opinion. The family business in Deidesheim in the Palatinate region looks back on a long tradition – founded in 1718 by Andreas Jordan. Today, Jana Niederberger runs the estate with passion, making it one of the 100 best wineries in Germany. Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow on 49 hectares of vineyards, spread across 20 individual sites. The soils? A fascinating mix of variegated sandstone, loess, basalt, and porphyry. What's particularly impressive: exclusively hand-harvesting during the selection process and organic farming methods. This results in 450,000 bottles full of character each year – Palatinate love in every bottle.
