Bassermann-Jordan Chardonnay dry
Selective harvest. After pressing, the must was fermented in stainless steel tanks under temperature control and matured on the fine lees for three months. A portion of the wine (20%) completed this fine lees aging in a so-called "Doppelstück" (large) wooden barrel. The rest of the wine matured in the stainless steel tank.
A beautiful, elegant Chardonnay with a delicate melt, good structure, and a fine fruity bouquet. A hint of exoticism (banana, citrus) well integrated into a powerful body.
The Burgundy grape varieties are consciously offered by Bassermann-Jordan without vineyard designation. For these wines, as is the case with our Pinot Blanc, the character of the grape variety is in the foreground. The vineyards for the Chardonnay are located in Deidesheim and Ruppertsberg sites.

The Winery
Bassermann-Jordan – Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2020 named this winery "Best Winery in Germany." Rightly so, we think.
The family business in Deidesheim in the Palatinate looks back on a long tradition – founded in 1718 by Andreas Jordan. Today, Jana Niederberger runs the estate with passion and is thus among the 100 best wineries in Germany.
Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon grow on 49 hectares of vineyards, spread over 20 individual sites. The soils? An exciting mixture of variegated sandstone, loess, basalt, and porphyry.
What is particularly convincing: exclusively manual labor during selection and organic farming methods. This is how 450,000 bottles full of character are created every year – Palatinate love in every bottle.
