Bassermann Jordan Auf der Mauer Riesling dry

Auf der Mauer is the entry into the serious Bassermann-Jordan universe — a Riesling that does not highlight a single site, but rather combines the best of Deidesheim and Ruppertsberg into a cohesive whole.

The base wines come from four premier sites of the Mittelhaardt: Hohenmorgen, Grainhübel, Kalkofen, and Reiterpfad. The vineyard slopes are located directly on the edge of the town on a small high plateau supported by old sandstone walls — hence the name. Spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels, then aged in steel tanks. The result is a Riesling with full fruit structure, soft texture, and clear varietal typicity: ripe grapes, not dominated by terroir peculiarities, but by the regional Palatinate interpretation of the grape variety. Awarded 92 points in Gault Millau as well as 1st place at the International Riesling Competition in the dry category.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with zander fillet with butter sauce, Palatinate Saumagen, or mature mountain cheese.
