Founded in 1853 with the purchase of Château Brane-Mouton, the estate was elevated to the exclusive ranks of "Premiers Crus" in 1973 – an honor shared by only five wineries in France. Today, the family business boasts six locations, the majority in France, along with estates in California and Chile. A total of 1,200 hectares of vineyards are cultivated, planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other grape varieties. At the most prestigious site, Mouton Cadet, 20 million bottles are produced annually. Each variety undergoes at least ten tastings – it's no wonder the wines regularly receive scores exceeding 95 Parker points.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild is one of the few names in winemaking that needs no introduction. In 1853, the family acquired the estate now known as Château Mouton Rothschild – and in 1973, it became one of only five French wineries to achieve Premier Cru Classé status. This classification has remained virtually unchanged in the Médoc since 1855; Mouton's elevation was the only exception in over 150 years.

Today, the family-run company cultivates around 1,200 hectares of vineyards across six locations – from Bordeaux to California and Chile. The main grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Their best-known entry-level wine, Mouton Cadet, is produced in Pauillac and bottled in approximately 20 million bottles annually, with each batch undergoing at least ten sensory evaluations.

What unites all the wines of this estate is a clearly recognizable style: structured, age-worthy, with the typical gravity of the Left Bank.
