Mouton Cadet Réserve Margaux 0.75L

A Margaux from the house of Baron Philippe de Rothschild — that means Bordeaux craftsmanship with a clear identity of origin. The Réserve line stands for wines that take the appellation seriously: grapes from controlled sites in the municipality of Margaux, where clayey gravel gives the Cabernet Sauvignon its characteristic structure.

The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a portion of Petit Verdot follows the classic Margaux pattern: dark fruit — blackberry, blackcurrant — carried by a fine violet note typical for this appellation. The Merlot portion rounds off the tannins, and the finish remains dry and pleasantly long.

On the palate, it shows a medium body with velvety tannins and a balanced acid structure — accessible without appearing flat. Served at 16–18 °C, it unfolds its aroma profile best. It pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, grilled entrecôte, or a strong goat cheese from the Périgord.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild

Baron Philippe de Rothschild – a name that stands for great wines worldwide. Founded in 1853 with the purchase of Château Brane-Mouton, the winery was upgraded to the exclusive rank of "Premiers Crus" in 1973 – an honor shared by only five wineries in France.

Today, the family business has six locations, the majority in France, plus California and Chile. A total of 1,200 hectares of vineyards on which Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others grow.

At the most famous location, Mouton Cadet, 20 million bottles are produced annually. Each variety is tested at least ten times – no wonder the wines are regularly rated with over 95 Parker points.
