Agneau Rouge Bordeaux

Agneau Rouge Bordeaux
A classic Bordeaux rouge from Baron Philippe de Rothschild — approachable, fruity, and expertly crafted. Ideal for those seeking an uncomplicated introduction to the Bordeaux style or a reliable everyday wine without compromising on character.
The grapes come from long-standing partner growers within the appellation. At the estate's own winery in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, vinification follows the classic method: destemming, gentle crushing, six days of fermentation at 25–30 °C, followed by 15 days of skin contact for color and aromatic depth. Aging and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks—this preserves the freshness and emphasizes the varietal fruit.
Cherry dominates in the glass, complemented by juicy red berries. On the palate, it displays concentration without heaviness: finely integrated tannins, a harmonious body, and a pleasant finish. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with lamb chops, pasta with tomato sauce, or a mature Comté cheese.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild – a name synonymous with great wines worldwide. Founded in 1853 with the purchase of Château Brane-Mouton, the estate was elevated to the exclusive ranks of "Premiers Crus" in 1973 – an honor shared by only five wineries in France. Today, the family business boasts six locations, the majority in France, along with estates in California and Chile. A total of 1,200 hectares of vineyards are cultivated, planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other grape varieties. At the most prestigious site, Mouton Cadet, 20 million bottles are produced annually. Each variety undergoes at least ten tastings – it's no wonder the wines regularly receive scores exceeding 95 Parker points.
