Les Cépages Chardonnay
Chardonnay is grown all over the world today. As a Vin de Pays d'Oc, it presents itself sun-drenched and unadulterated. Fragrant aromas of pineapple, white peach, and hazelnut are finely balanced by the underlying minerality. On the palate, plenty of fullness with lush fruit, soft and round with a long finish.
The grapes come from vineyards near Limoux, near Carcassonne. The harvest for this Vin de Pays d'Oc is selected with the utmost care by Baron Philippe de Rothschild's oenologists from the vineyards of contract partners who have been associated with the house for a long time. The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed, after which they remain in contact with the grape skin for a few hours to extract valuable aromas. For clarification, the must is cooled so that the sediment can settle. This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation to maintain the fresh aroma. The wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel.

The Domaine
Baron Philippe de Rothschild – a name that stands for great wines worldwide. Founded in 1853 with the purchase of Château Brane-Mouton, the winery was upgraded to the exclusive rank of "Premiers Crus" in 1973 – an honor shared by only five wineries in France.
Today, the family business has six locations, the majority in France, plus California and Chile. A total of 1,200 hectares of vineyards on which Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others grow.
At the most famous location, Mouton Cadet, 20 million bottles are produced annually. Each variety is tested at least ten times – no wonder the wines are regularly rated with over 95 Parker points.
