Tres Viñas Reserva

Tres Viñas Reserva
A white Rioja that shows what the region can do beyond its red wines: creamy texture, vibrant acidity and an aroma profile that balances between freshness and ripeness.
Baron de Ley is one of the most renowned estates in Rioja — founded in 1985 at the Nuestra Señora del Legarda monastery in Rioja Baja. For their Tres Viñas Reserva, the winery uses grapes from three vineyard sites, whose mineral-rich soils impart a characteristic underlying tension to the wines.
On the nose, nutmeg, orange peel, and ripe autumn fruits mingle with a fresh, slightly mineral undertone. On the palate, the wine displays a smooth, almost oily texture—alcohol and acidity are perfectly balanced without either dominating. The finish is long, with a lemony freshness that keeps the wine vibrant despite its body.
- Dishes: Grilled sea bass, chicken breast fillet with lemon and herb butter, creamy pasta with seafood or mature Manchego cheese
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Occasion: A perfect accompaniment to relaxed evenings or as an alternative to classic white Burgundies

Barón de Ley was founded in 1985 with a clear ambition: to establish a bodega in the DOCa Rioja modeled after the great Médoc châteaux—consistently focused on its own grapes and extended aging. The winery is located in Mendavia, in the Navarrese part of Rioja, in a restored 16th-century Benedictine monastery. Here, only Reserva and Gran Reserva wines are produced—no Jóvenes, no Crianzas, only wines that have been given time. The name says it all: "de ley" means something like "genuine" and "righteous" in Spanish—and that is precisely the standard reflected in every bottle.
