Baron de Ley Rioja Blanco

Baron de Ley Rioja Blanco
A white wine from Rioja that shows this region can do far more than Tempranillo: fresh, herbaceous, with a clear varietal profile.
Baron de Ley has been running a winery in Mendavia in Rioja Baja since 1985 – known primarily for classic Reserva red wines from their own vineyards. The Blanco is a rarer offering: a blend of Viura (the classic white wine grape of Rioja) and a small percentage of Malvasia , which lends the wine aromatic richness.
In the glass, it displays aromas of white peach and citrus peel , underpinned by a herbal note – typical of Viura from this region. The palate is fresh, with lively acidity and a clean, slightly spicy finish. Not a heavy, buttery style – rather lean and very drinkable.
