Trenz Johannisberger Riesling Kabinett dry
A cabinet wine that showcases what distinguishes the Rheingau: light structure, clear fruit, unmistakable minerality — everything is there, nothing too much.
The Michael Trenz winery cultivates vineyards in Johannisberg, one of the most historically significant Riesling villages in the Rheingau. For centuries, the name has stood for wines with finesse and typical regional character – calcareous-loamy soils with a loess topsoil, which give the Riesling its characteristic tension between fruit and minerality.
In the glass, the Kabinett displays aromas of white peach, lemon zest, and a hint of green apple. The acidity is present but integrated—not sharp, but rather an invigorating line that keeps the palate fresh. The finish carries a delicate slatey note, typical of Johannisberger Riesling. At only 10.5% ABV, the wine remains light and easy to drink without sacrificing character.
Best served at 8–10 °C . Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried trout, or light poultry dishes. Also a good choice on its own as an aperitif—especially on warm evenings.
