Michael Trenz Winery

The Trenz winery in the Rheingau – founded in 1670. Today, young winemaker Michael Trenz runs the family business. At the age of 21, he took over as owner and cellar master. Courage that pays off. On 18 hectares of vineyards with mineral-rich soils of Taunus quartzite, loess loam, slate, and sandstone, mainly Riesling (85 percent) as well as Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grow. Among the best sites are the Johannisberger Hölle and the Johannesberger Vogelsang. "Michael Trenz manages to unlock the full potential of Riesling" (Focus.de). No wonder he is the official supplier to Federal President Steinmeier for state banquets. Rheingau love at its finest.

Since 1670 in the Rheingau —
Riesling with depth and poise

Michael Trenz took over the family winery at the age of 21—as both owner and cellar master. On 18 hectares of Taunus quartzite, slate, and sandstone soils around Johannisberg, 85% of the vines are Riesling, which brings the minerality of the soils directly to the glass. Focus.de attests that it "unfolds the full potential of Riesling"—a quality appreciated by Federal President Steinmeier at state receptions.
