The German Spreitzer winery in the Rheingau region was founded in 1641 and is now owned by Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer. Located directly on the Rhine, near the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden, it boasts a total vineyard area of 22 hectares spread across four vineyard sites. Among the winery's finest sites are Oestricher Lenchen and Doosberg. A unique feature of the estate is its vaulted cellar, dating back to 1745, where the wines are stored. The soils of the vineyards consist of loess loam, marl, and, in some areas, quartzite, providing the vines with excellent water supply thanks to the proximity to the Rhine. Spreitzer cultivates 97% Riesling grapes and only a small percentage of Pinot Noir. The winery produces and sells approximately 160,000 bottles of wine annually.
