Riesling Charter
A classic Rheingau Riesling with bite: dry, firm and yet carried by ripe fruit — the Charta concept in its original idea.
The Spreitzer winery has been rooted in Oestrich-Winkel for generations and is one of the most reliable wineries in the Rheingau. The Riesling Charta follows in the tradition of the Charta association, which established dry Rheingau Riesling as a distinct style in the 1980s: minerally characterized, high in acidity, and uncompromising in its approachability.
In the glass, it shines a vibrant pale yellow. The nose is initially restrained—a hint of blackcurrant, followed by yellow apple and a touch of mango. On the palate, its true character reveals itself: brilliant, vibrant acidity with a mineral foundation, barely perceptible residual sweetness, and a long finish with a saline aftertaste. Not a wine for quiet evenings—one for substantial meals.
Pairs well with freshwater fish from the Rhine , pike-perch or pike in butter sauce, but also with boiled beef or a mature Tomme cheese. Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Has aging potential.

The German winery Spreitzer from the Rheingau was founded as early as 1641 and is today owned by Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer. It is located directly on the Rhine, not far from the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden, and has a total vineyard area of 30 ha, which is distributed over four sites. Among the best sites of the winery are Oestricher Lenchen and Doosberg. A special feature of the winery is the vaulted cellar from the year 1745, in which the produced wines are stored. The soils of the sites consist of loess loam, marl, and partly of quartzite and offer the vines, due to the proximity to the Rhine, an excellent water supply. At Weingut Spreitzer, 97% of the Riesling grape variety is grown and only a small percentage of Pinot Noir. In total, the winery produces and sells approximately 160,000 bottles of wine.
