Oestricher Spätburgunder Klosterberg

Oestricher Spätburgunder Klosterberg
A Pinot Noir from the Rheingau region that shows what this region can offer in terms of red wine: substantial, aromatically precise, with real depth.
The Spreitzer winery in Oestrich-Winkel is primarily known for its Rieslings – but since Bernd and Andreas Spreitzer took over the winery in 1997, they have also consistently developed their Pinot Noir. The Klosterberg vineyard is a single site directly on the Rhine, characterized by deep loess soils over slate – this gives the wine structure and an earthy undertone.
In the glass, a bouquet of sour cherry, blackcurrant, and fresh herbs unfolds, underpinned by a hint of clove. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with lively acidity and fine-grained tannins – the finish reveals a touch of spice and lingering freshness.
