Hallgarten Hendelberg Riesling

Hallgarten Hendelberg Riesling
Hendelberg is one of Hallgarten's best single vineyards in the Rheingau — and Spreitzer produces a Riesling from this sandstone-loam soil that maintains a rare balance between power and finesse.
The Spreitzer winery in Oestrich-Winkel has been cultivating its Rheingau vineyards for generations with a consistent commitment to quality. The Hendelberg vineyard is sheltered and south-facing, and its sandstone and loam soils give the wine its characteristic smoothness and firm minerality.
In the glass, ripe peach and apricot are revealed, underpinned by apple and a stony, salty minerality. The body is firm, yet the structure unusually delicate and velvety—no harshness, no harsh acidity, but rather an invigorating freshness that permeates the entire sip. The herbal minerality lingers on the finish, accompanied by a subtle extract sweetness.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Drinking window: until 2029.
Goes well with fried salmon trout with herb butter, asparagus with hollandaise sauce or mild goat cheese.
