Trenz Basic Riesling dry

Trenz Basic Riesling dry
A Riesling that gets out of the way in the cellar – so the vine can speak for itself. At the Michael Trenz winery, this is a fundamental principle, not a marketing promise.
The winery is located in Rheinhessen, one of Germany's largest wine regions, which has been synonymous with meticulously crafted Riesling since at least the 2010s. Michael Trenz works according to the principle of "as little as possible, as much as necessary" : yield limitation through pruning, late selective hand-harvesting, gentle pressing, individual must storage, and careful vinification. The wine is created by omission – not by addition.
In the glass, the Basic Riesling displays the typical varietal aromas of citrus peel, green apple, and a hint of peach, supported by the lively acidity that characterizes Rheinhessen Riesling. The finish is lean and fresh, with a delicate mineral note.
Serving temperature 8–10 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried pike-perch fillet, or young goat cheese. Also a good choice as a simple aperitif on the patio.
