Trenz Johannisberg Old Reben Riesling

A Rheingau Riesling with real depth: The 60-year-old vines in Johannisberg produce grapes with concentrated aromas and natural tension — you can taste it.

The Michael Trenz winery cultivates classic Rheingau vineyards, whose Riesling tradition dates back to the Middle Ages. The Johannisberg vineyard is considered one of Germany's most important Riesling sites, characterized by Taunus quartzite soils and the moderating influence of the Rhine. Here, old vines mean deeper roots, lower yields—and the added substance that is noticeable in the glass.

In the glass, the wine displays aromas of ripe quince and citrus peel, underpinned by a delicate mineral shimmer. The acidity is clear and lively without being harsh, the finish long and slightly saline—typical of the best Johannisberg Rieslings.

Serving suggestion: Serve at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pan-fried trout with caper butter, Asian dishes with ginger and lime, or strongly spiced poultry. Drinking window: now until 2028.
