Roycello Fiano Salento IGT

Roycello Fiano Salento IGT
A Fiano from the southern Italian Salento that shows what Puglia can do with white grape varieties: aromatic depth without heaviness, warmth without alcoholic burn.
Tormaresca belongs to the Antinori group and manages two estates in Puglia – including the Tenuta Maìme, from which this single-varietal Fiano originates. The soils of the Salento, calcareous and well-drained, give the grape variety exactly what it needs: minerality as a counterweight to Mediterranean ripeness.
In the glass, the Roycello shows aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and jasmine, with a delicate herbal tone underneath – typical for Fiano. On the palate, it is gentle at the start, then has varietal-typical acidity that provides freshness without being sharp. The finish is persistent, slightly salty.

Founded in 1998 by the Antinori family, the Tormaresca winery is located in the Italian region of Apulia, near the town of San Pietro Vernotico. Tormaresca boasts two vineyards (Tenuta Bocca di Lupo and Masseria Maime), encompassing a total area of 348 hectares. The region is characterized by abundant sunshine and significant temperature variations between day and night. In addition to the vineyards, the estate also owns olive groves and grain fields. The vineyards are characterized by tuff soils, on which red and white grape varieties are cultivated, including Negroamaro, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Anglianico. Three million bottles of wine are produced here annually.
