Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, is one of the flattest and most fertile regions in the country. The Castel del Monte DOC area, named after the castle built in the 13th century, has established itself as a first-class wine-growing region with its magnificent vineyards. Marchese Piero Antinori recognized the immense potential of the climate and terroir here and, alongside the regional Aglianico grape, planted international varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon on 350 hectares of vineyards. Tormaresca is therefore also among the pioneers in cultivating international grape varieties in Puglia. Tormaresca's Masseria Maime sparkles ruby ​​red in the glass and captivates with a bouquet of red berries. Its 14 months of aging in barriques also lends it a pleasant oak note, well integrated into the soft and spicy flavor. Sweet, gentle tannins beautifully round off this three-glass wine.
