Tormaresca Torcicoda Primitivo Salento 1.5L Magnum in HK

Primitivo from Salento in a magnum bottle — that means: plenty of fruit, a round body, and enough volume to last all evening. The Torcicoda from Tormaresca is a reliable representative of this sun-drenched grape variety from the heel of Puglia.

Tormaresca belongs to the Antinori family and manages two estates in Apulia—including the Masseria Maìme in Salento. The name Torcicoda (Spanish for "three-legged lizard") is a reference to the wildlife of the Tavoliere plain, where the Primitivo grapes thrive in the Mezzogiorno heat. It is aged for 12 months in French and Hungarian oak barriques, followed by further bottle aging.

In the glass, the wine displays dark sour cherry and plum, complemented by notes of leather, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla from the oak aging. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, the finish long and slightly spicy. A red wine with a southern character, smooth and refined.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb, pasta al ragù, or mature pecorino cheese. The 1.5-liter magnum bottle is ideal for social gatherings—larger volume means slower aging and more enjoyment over the next two to three years.
