Tormaresca Masseria Maime Salento

Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, is one of the flattest and most fertile regions in the country. The Castel del Monte DOC area, named after the castle built in the 13th century, has established itself as a first-class wine-growing region with its magnificent vineyards. Marchese Piero Antinori recognized the immense potential of the climate and terroir here and, alongside the regional Aglianico grape, planted international varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon on 350 hectares of vineyards. Tormaresca is therefore also among the pioneers in cultivating international grape varieties in Puglia. Tormaresca's Masseria Maime sparkles ruby red in the glass and captivates with a bouquet of red berries. Its 14 months of aging in barriques also lends it a pleasant oak note, well integrated into the soft and spicy flavor. Sweet, gentle tannins beautifully round off this three-glass wine. Aged for 14 months in barriques and 6 months in the bottle. For the 8th time in a row: 3 glasses in Gambero Rosso speak volumes about this top wine from the Antinori winery.

Tormaresca

Founded in 1998 by the Antinori family, the Tormaresca winery is located in the Italian region of Apulia, near the town of San Pietro Vernotico. Tormaresca boasts two vineyards (Tenuta Bocca di Lupo and Masseria Maime), encompassing a total area of 348 hectares. The region is characterized by abundant sunshine and significant temperature variations between day and night. In addition to the vineyards, the estate also owns olive groves and grain fields. The vineyards are characterized by tuff soils, on which red and white grape varieties are cultivated, including Negroamaro, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Anglianico. Three million bottles of wine are produced here annually.
