Bocca di Lupo –
Antinori in Apulia, Castel del Monte

Over two decades ago, the Antinori winemaking family from Tuscany decided to take their expertise south – to the Castel del Monte DOC in northern Apulia. At the time, the region was considered an insider tip; today, it is one of Italy's most exciting wine regions, not least thanks to the dedication of this winery.

The vineyards of Bocca di Lupo lie on calcareous soils under the intense Apulian sun, are cultivated according to strict organic principles, and focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Aglianico and Nero di Troia. The result is wines with structure and depth: dark fruit, Mediterranean herbs, a long, mineral finish – clearly expressing their origin without resorting to regional clichés.

Craftsmanship and respect for the terroir define the cellar: controlled fermentation, aging in oak, and no compromises regarding harvest time. Those seeking Apulian wines beyond the mass market will find at Bocca di Lupo a consistent answer to the question of what this ancient region is truly capable of.
