Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT Magnum

Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT Magnum
A Primitivo that showcases what Puglia is capable of: ripe fruit, a velvety texture, and enough depth for a special evening. The magnum bottle makes it the first choice when there are more than two people at the table.
Tormaresca belongs to the Antinori family and has been cultivating vineyards in Apulia since the late 1990s—Castel del Monte in the north, Salento in the south. The Torcicoda comes from Salento, where the Primitivo grapes ripen on deep red clay soils under intense sunshine. Ten months of barrel aging give the wine structure without masking its characteristic fruitiness.
In the glass, it displays dark blackberry and plum, along with kirsch, a hint of cocoa, and a subtle vanilla note from the oak aging. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, the acidity moderate—resulting in a well-rounded, approachable red wine with a warm, lingering finish.
- Food: Grilled lamb chop, pasta al ragù, mature pecorino or BBQ
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
- Drinking window: Now until 2028
- Tip: The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the 0.75-liter bottle — those who wait until 2026 will get even more richness.
